Process

Upon receiving your enquiry, Ben will be in touch to discuss your project with you to ascertain your goals for the build. At this early stage providing as much detail as possible, including any plans or concept designs you may have, would be super helpful and can efficiently bring us up to speed.

However if you are at a pre planning stage, we are also more than happy to discuss your project, and can arrange for plans to be drawn up at a later point. We will then book an initial consultation and look forward to meeting with you.

During our initial consultation we will discuss your project with you in some detail and listen to your requirements for the proposed project; your needs, wants and dreams. We will look at your home and your hopes for it and make suggestions that will further the possibilities for the project.

It would be helpful if you could provide us with an estimated budget at this point, so that we are armed with enough information to produce realistic concepts and discuss finishes that keep you within your budget.

Concept Design

To advance your ideas and move towards the production of planning drawings, we will introduce you to our architect, Max. Max will work from your specification and initial ideas to present you with a selection of concept drawings to show you what is possible within your home.

The aim of this process is to ensure the optimum use of the space available, enhance the aesthetic and, more than likely, the value of your home.

Planning

Planning drawings will be submitted on your behalf and with years of experience in his field Max is able to make subtle material or aesthetic changes to enable the planning application process to run smoothly. Max will monitor the progression of the application, discovering and rectifying any potential issues with the planners, should they arise.

Upon receiving planning consent, Max will liaise with us and our Structural Engineer, Reece, to produce building regulation drawings, tailoring the materials involved in construction with a focus on your aesthetic and budget.

Quote

Following on from the finalised plans, we will draw up an initial estimate for the scope of works required, balancing your budget and requirements. If you are happy with our estimate, we will draw up a contract for you to sign and we can provide a detailed breakdown of costs.

We pride ourselves on bringing our projects in on budget and will help make your money work as hard for you as possible, providing provisional sums for the main material elements to help guide you through your decisions, from glazing options to floor finishes.

Construction

Upon acceptance of the quote, we will produce a schedule prior to the start date of the project. The schedule outlines what to expect each week from the build, enabling living arrangements for you and your family to be planned for in advance. Then it’s over to the Cotswold Design construction team to bring the concept to life, this is the part we love most! Efficient construction, liaising with you throughout the build and endeavouring to discuss any issues with you before action is taken.

Whether you move out during the works or stay in the property, Ben and his team will be conscientious and aim to limit your exposure to any disruption, whilst paying attention to the construction detail and making sure the plans are constructed with care and skill.
